With the Art Marker (6D Pen), designers can go back in time and get the good old marker pen experience - with all the advantages of the digital realm. This pen has, like its traditional counterpart, a broad, angled pen-tip, which is made of either plastic or real felt. Additionally, the Art Marker is rotation-sensitive, so you can, if the software supports rotation-sensitivity, change the width of your stroke by simply turning the pen-barrel - just as you would with a real felt marker. And you can even use your Art Maker as a calligraphic fountain-pen.
The Art Marker can be rotated up to 360° along its longitudinal axis, while the tablet can read the degree of rotation precisely and continuously. To make full use of the Art Marker, you must use software that supports rotation-sensitivity. Currently, the packages that do this are Adobe Photoshop CS2 & CS3, Adobe Illustrator CS2 & CS3, and Corel Painter IX. Older versions of these packages do not support the Art Marker fully and see it as an ordinary pressure-sensitive and tilt-sensitive Intuos3 pen.
Sensitive pen tip
With 1,024 pressure levels, the Intuos3 Art Marker tip responds in the most sensitive way to your own method of drawing, writing, painting, dragging and clicking. Reduced activation pressure at the tip ensures ergonomic and relaxing work and increased sensitivity means you can create vignettes on screen without level transition.
The Intuos3 Art Marker recognises tilt angles of up to 60° - important for realistic paintbrush simulation, for example.
Customise your pens: With Tool ID each Intuos3 input device can be individually programmed and configured for each application. And these functions can be automatically activated, when the application is started.
