The Graphire3 Studio has an active area of 128x93 mm. It comes with a pen only (and no mouse), and with the following quality software:
Photoshop Elements 3.0
Pinnacle Studio 8 SE (PC only)
NIK penPalette LE
ACDSee 5.0(PC)/ 1.65 (Mac).
Note: The PDF-brochure below still, incorrectly, mentions Photoshop Elements 2.0.
The Graphire3 Studio is approximately the size of a mouse-mat and has a postcard-sized active area. Moving the accompanying pen over that active area moves the cursor across the computer screen. Like all Wacom tablets, this movement can be very precisely controlled. Because you can control the pen with your fingertips, and not the whole hand, you can use the accuracy of the Graphire3 tablet to its full advantage.
The pen is cordless and contains no batteries, which can be heavy and run down at inconvenient moments. It is the pen-tip that is pressure-sensitive, not the tablet, allowing you to draw smooth lines varying in thickness, colour, or intensity. The pen has a rocker-switch which is user-customizable for various functions. The other end of the pen has a pressure-sensitive eraser, which works just like the pen-tip and can be used, in many drawing programs, as a real eraser. The surface of the tablet is covered with a transparent sheet under which a photograph can be placed for tracing or simply to give your Graphire3 a personal touch.
