Graphire2 USB Steel Photo Edition 2

Graphire2 USB Steel Photo Edition 2 Zoom
Thumb Thumb Thumb Thumb Thumb
  • Description
  • Specifications
Same tablet as the Graphire2 Steel but with additional software for working with photographs.

The Graphire2 Steel is approximately the size of a mouse-mat and has a postcard-sized active area. Moving the accompanying pen or mouse over that active area moves the cursor across the computer screen. Like all Wacom tablets, this movement can be very precisely controlled. The mouse is useful if you are mainly using the keyboard and simply want to mouse-click now and then, during which time you can leave the pen in its penholder; the pen is more useful if you want to control the mouse-cursor for longer periods. Because you can control the pen with your fingertips, and not the whole hand, you can use the accuracy of the Graphire2 tablet to its full advantage.

Both the pen and mouse are cordless and contain no batteries, which can be heavy and run down at inconvenient moments. It is the pen-tip that is pressure-sensitive, not the tablet, allowing you to draw smooth lines varying in thickness, colour, or intensity. The pen has a rocker-switch which is user-customizable for various functions. The other end of the pen has a pressure-sensitive eraser, which works just like the pen-tip and can be used, in many drawing programs, as a real eraser. The mouse has two buttons and a scroll-wheel which can also be clicked. The surface of the tablet is covered with a transparent sheet under which a photograph can be placed for tracing.
